CRITICAL BUG 3.0.21 - No Voice, No Transcription, No Photos

After updating to firmware 3.0.21 my Omi CV1 stopped working completely.

Issues:

  1. No voice / 2-way conversation broken

  2. No transcription in any mode

  3. Photos not syncing

I tested all 4 transcription modes: Omi, On Device, Cloud, Parakeet. None of them work. Screenshot attached.

    Update: #22549 has now merged, and an internal iOS build containing the Apple speech recovery fix succeeded. It is not yet in the public App Store version, so please keep the app and its data intact and don’t reset the CV1 while recordings may be unsynced. The separate firmware wake work in #14156 is still being validated, and we still need to identify what is failing in photo sync rather than assume all three symptoms have one cause. We’ll post the exact public app version to install, then ask you to compare phone-mic and CV1 transcription and voice chat and privately confirm the photo source and failed transfer behavior. We’re keeping this post open until those results are verified.

    Apple speech improvements (#21474) are already released in iOS 1.0.564. The additional recovery fix (#22549) still needs CI, merging and an iOS release; no backend deployment is needed. Related firmware work (#14156) still needs hardware validation, merging and release.

    Please update the app, compare phone-mic versus CV1 transcription and voice chat, and privately send your versions, one failed recording time, and which photos aren’t syncing. Keep app data intact. We’re keeping this open until your results are verified.

    @ELITE BROKER I’m sorry this is still blocking you. We’ve opened #20484 to investigate. The log shows an iOS on-device speech error, but it doesn’t yet explain why the other transcription modes or photos fail, so we haven’t confirmed firmware 3.0.21 as the cause. Please send your Omi app and iOS versions, an approximate failure time, whether recording with the phone mic works without the CV1, and what you mean by “photos not syncing” to help@omi.me. Please don’t reinstall or reset while recordings may be unsynced.
