Pendant disconnecting even with app left open and background usage enabled

I leave my Omi app open all the time. Background usage for the app is enabled and I've disallowed Android from managing the app if unused. Still, if I don't look at the app for a few hours, it disconnects from my wearable. It reconnected as soon as I focus on the app, again. Usually after I notice the “disconnected” notification.

I have a fully updated Pixel 9.

Hi @Normative G can you please share the version of the app you are on. In the latest version 1.0.528 (800) we improved bluetooth connectivity. This version is right now available on android beta, please try it and let us know if the issue is still there.

The app updated to 1.0.528 yesterday. I think it was on 1.0.524 before that, but I can’t be sure. I’ll keep an eye on this to see if it improves.

I did have one odd issue after the update. Several hours after the update the device started disconnecting every time I turned off my phone screen. The app stayed running, but as soon as I turned my phone screen off, I’d get a disconnected notification. It did this oven and over until I restarted my phone, then it began behaving, again.

Could you please confirm which phone you are using? Also, please check if there’s an update available, as we recently released version 1.0.529 (801) to fix a few issues.

Additionally, please go to Settings > Permissions in the Omi app and make sure background permissions are enabled.

Let me know if the issue still persists.

My reply is late, but better than never.

I’m paired to a Pixel 9. Full background permissions are enabled and I’ve been updating the app as soon as each new version came out.

Disconnects while the phone is in range have dropped off considerably with the last couple updates. I still disconnect whenever I am more than 5 feet from my phone, but that should be a hardware limitation.

          Thanks,

I'm using the Omi Wearable. I tried to update the title of this post to make it less confusing, but got an error message on here every time I tried to save the change.
