Problem , need urgent help/ replacement of my omi neckless
After updating my iPhone to iOS [version], my Omi necklace went from working flawlessly to delayed and incomplete transcripts.
Test conditions:
– Quiet room, necklace close to mouth
– On Wi‑Fi
– Short clear test sentence
Behavior:
– Text appears several seconds late
– Sentences are often cut off mid‑way (incomplete), which didn’t happen before the iOS update.
I’ve already:
– Re‑enabled mic & Bluetooth permissions
– Forgotten & re‑paired in both iOS and the Omi app
– Restarted phone & device
Since hardware clearly works but performance regressed after iOS, is this a known issue with this iOS version, and is there a fix or update planned?
Earlier omi neckless used to work flawlessly
But now i am very sad

Really frustrating after it was working perfectly. We appreciate the detailed troubleshooting you've already done.
Key questions first:
Which exact iOS version did you update to (Settings → General → About)?
Omi app version (Omi app → Settings → About)?
When you say "delayed" — how many seconds? And does the waveform in the app animate immediately when you speak, or is that delayed too?
Potential iOS-specific issues to check:
Background App Refresh:
Go to iPhone Settings → General → Background App Refresh → make sure it's ON globally AND for Omi app specifically.
iOS updates sometimes reset this, which can cause choppy/delayed transcription.
Low Power Mode: Settings → Battery — if Low Power Mode is ON, turn it OFF and test. iOS throttles background processes in LPM.
Network settings: After iOS updates, sometimes network routing gets weird. Try: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings (this won't delete data, just Wi-Fi passwords and VPN configs). Then reconnect Wi-Fi and test. Omi app reinstall (nuclear option):
Delete Omi app completely, restart iPhone, reinstall from App Store, log back in. Sometimes iOS updates mess with app sandboxing/permissions in ways that forget/re-pair doesn't fix.
If none of that works: This could be a Bluetooth audio profile regression in this specific iOS version (Apple has broken BLE audio handling before in point releases). Email help@omi.me with:
Exact iOS version
Omi app version (Settings → About)
Omi firmware version (Device settings in app)

They can check if there's a known iOS bug, push you a beta firmware if needed, or arrange replacement if it's actually hardware degradation (unlikely given your timeline, but possible).
One more test: Does offline recording (press Omi button, talk, press again, then sync) transcribe fully and correctly? If yes, it's definitely live-streaming logic, not mic hardware. Let me know what iOS version + what you find after the above steps.
